Motivational Monday #13

Happy Christmas Week everyone!

As Christmas and New Years approaches, things get more hectic. Its just the way it is! But as you are spending time with your family and/or friends, just remember to be present. It is very easy to get distracted or consumed by something that has nothing to do with what's going on right now.

Take this time to really appreciate the kindness from and to other. And especially with the family that you may not see any other time than right now, appreciate and cherish the time that you spend with your loved ones.

Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory

Friday Favorites

Hello, hello!

I'm sooooo sorry I missed Whisker Wednesday! It has been crazy busy at work (to the point of complete exhaustion) and I totally spaced it! But to make up for it here is a Friday Favorites post!

So the last couple posts have been about products, but today it is going to be about a store. When I first started going to this store years ago, I never really found anything I liked. The clothes are set up in a way that I just do not like (just racks of them that you have to go through) and they were never my style (crop top? NO thank you!). But I do have to say, for the last year or two, I am lucky if I can leave this place without picking up something!

So that store is.....TJ Maxx.<-- I mentioned this store in my last post!

If you have never been to a TJ Maxx before, let me tell you now IT CAN BE OVERWHELMING.

So the concept of the store is to get brand name items and sell them for a cheaper price. Granted sometimes you can get these items at other places if they have a great sale going on, but unless you catch the sale, you miss it! So here at TJ Maxx they always have those prices. I have to say that lately I have been finding really good hair and face products.

For example, when I was at one of the stores here in Anoka the other day I noticed a product that I have only ever seen at Sephora-GlamGlow. GlamGlow is a skincare product that helps with a multiple different things. There are a couple of different ones and three of them are the Supermud (white), Thirstymud (green), Youthmud (black). So onto what I saw!

I saw the Youthmud product at TJ Maxx for $39.99 while at Sephora the same thing retails for $69.99. Holy Crap. I did not buy it as I already have multiple items that I want to use up but I was super excited to see that product!

Now TJ Maxx is part of a group of stores. The ones that most people know are TJ Maxx, Marshalls, and Homegoods. Each one has a variety of items but they are set up in pretty much the same way. One thing I should mention is that unfortunately these stores do not offer online shopping. The things that they get are sporadic and are usually not the same as their previous shipment so it would be hard to actually sell things online. I do enjoy spending a little bit of time wandering around seeing what they have.

What do you think of TJ Maxx/ Marshalls/ Homegoods?

What is one of your favorite places to shop for good deals?

So there you go! Have a great weekend and \m/ GO BISON!

Motivational Monday #12

Hello everyone!

There are so many times I hear myself saying, "I'll wait until tomorrow" or "I'll start on Monday" or "I still have time". I never really think about it either, that is until I am down to crunch time and I am disappointed or upset with myself for not doing something sooner.

Do you ever get this way? Is anyone else's middle name procrastination??

Take charge everyone. The new year is almost upon us!

Friday Favorites

Holy crap guys, I actually got around to writing this post for the second time! I told you I was going to keep up on it ;)

BUT back to the actual reason why you are here. What am I loving this week. I can honestly say that this week, my Eddy Camelbak has been right by my side the whole time. I made a pact to start drinking more water and with this I really have been able to.

I am a straw biter. Yes I admit it, I usually have to bite my straws when I drink or it just feels weird to me. This Camelbak allows me to do this without having to replace it all the time! I have actually tried drinking out of a regular cup and I just hate it without a straw. This probably has something to do with my sensitive teeth as cold water and ice cream really hurt my teeth!

I was able to buy mine at Target. I know that there are a lot of places that you can buy them. Also you should be cleaning your Camelbak.

From the Camelbak website:
"The Fresh™ Filter in your CamelBak Groove reliably reduces contaminants for 300 refills of the bottle,             or approximately 3 months of use at 3 - 4 full bottles per day (48 gallons / 180 liters).  "

I was able to order a two pack of straws and bite valves on Amazon for about $6. Definitely worth it if you dont want mold growing in your bite valve or anything!

This water bottle takes a little getting used to once you first try it, but I can almost guarantee that because it is so easy to drink out of you will drink more water!!

Do you have one?
Do you like it if you do?
Where did you get yours?

Until next time, have an amazing weekend!

Whisker Wednesday #6

This week is not going to be a typical Whisker Wednesday.

As some of you may know, our beloved Pekingese Pearl was put to sleep. Due to having a mass on her spine and several strokes, she was no longer able to move or eat/drink by herself. This all start a couple of years ago when we started noticing that on somedays she couldn't move around as well or when the weather seemed to be drowsy, she was also. After learning about the mass on her spine and how it was inoperable, we tried to give her the best life possible. Of course our other dog, Prince, loved it because we couldn't leave him out of fun things going on!

This last week my parents made the decision that it was time. It is possible that she had another stroke last week making it impossible for her to move at all. She was also going deaf and blind which caused her to not really trust anyone. While we are all sad that she has moved on, we know that she is up chasing her toys and loving the wind blowing through her fur again.

She was truly loved and I know that she knew that.

RIP Baby Girl <3

Motivational Monday #11

I will not lie, today came way too fast and I was not motivated AT.ALL. I even got dressed this morning for the gym and had my pre-workout ready to drink just to fall asleep in my chair before leaving the house. WTF? So today wasnt really a Motivational Monday but I still wanted to do a post. Why? Because it helps me really think about things that motivate me. It helps me put things into perspective and really gets my mind into gear.

With that being said, this quote really stuck out to me.

Funny Motivational Inspirational Typography Poster - Humourous Digital Art Print - Positivity - Positive Pants Wood Grain Teal Brown Gray

Even though it's not much today, it's something that you will think about the next time you put pants on :)

Until Next Time!

Friday Favorites

Hello everyone! After throwing ideas around about different things to blog about I have decided to start this new blog post every week.

I wanted to start a new segment called Friday Favorites. I love being able to test out products/things and let you all know what my thoughts are on them so that you can have an idea! So I am going to start adding this to my weekly routine. And I promise I will really try to keep up on it (unlike my Whisker Wednesday posts ;)!).

But anyway my first Friday Favorite is this:

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner. Here is a picture if you have never seen/heard of it before.

Sephora states:

"What it is: A liquid eyeliner with an innovative brush tip for effortless, precise application
What it does: Achieve eye perfection with this high-pigment, waterproof liner that stays put all day for a fade-,melt-, crack-,and run-resistant finish. The superfine flexible brush tip glides across the lashline for incredibly fluid application, allowing you to create a variety of looks with ease. Unlike traditional felt tip liners, this brush tip will not fray."

As a person that wears contacts and touches their eyes, there are very few eyeliners that don't smudge on me. I actually came upon this product by accident. I happened to get a sample at Sephora (why? for something that I don't remember). It was so tiny and cute but once I actually used it I was in love! The tip applicator is not actually one piece but multiple little pieces. It is very flexible and allows for manipulation where the regular felt tips don't. I actually really like this as I usually screw up with the felt tip liners as they are not as flexible!

One of my favorite things about this product is that it doesn't budge at all. Once you put it on it will be on there all day. It may dull a little, but you bet your bum it will be there at the end of the day/night! The other thing that I really like is that it is BLACK. I have had others that are a dull/don't really look like black. The price tag on this bad boy is $18 which is a lot I know, but I have had mine for about a year now and am finally getting to a point where I should maybe invest in a new one! Also, you can find it at Sephora. I have also heard that if you have a Marshalls/TJ Maxx/Ross by you that they may have them there, but I haven't been able to find any so don't count on that!

So I am not sure if you all are going to like these types of posts but I really like sharing my opinion about deal with it ;) Just kidding--you don't have to read them if you don't want! Also if you have any suggestions for things you'd like to hear a review about or anything, let me know!!

Have a great weekend (we are heading up to Fargo to do a little tailgating/cheering on the bison and looking at a wedding venue--wahoo!) and I'll see you on Motivational Monday!

**These opinions are my own and I used my own personal money to buy the item**

Whisker Wednesday #5

I've only made 5 of these posts? I feel like I have enough pictures for at least 50...ha!

So the last blog post talked about Bruce attacking us. That evil look in his ears as well as his mouth.

Wellll, I think we were able to take it down a notch by investing in a 5 foot cat tree. After looking in stores and realizing that they are EXTREMELY over priced, I decided to hit up Ebay. Granted I looked for a very long time before biting the bullet, I decided on this one:

We have placed it in our kitchen right by our patio door that overlooks the field behind our house. I can honestly say that anytime we can not find Bruce, he is sitting on one of the levels creeping on whatever is outside. He usually comes by us to warm up after sitting by the window for so long.

Just being King of the Kitchen
Also, I believe has grown attached to Bill. Whenever Bill is around, Bruce loves cuddling with him! I'm sure he'll come back around to me soon enough ;)

Other than that, hes our baby kitty--no matter how old he gets!

Motivational Monday #10

As you go through life, there are many journeys that you will embark on. There are many times you will fail and many times you will succeed. Whether this be in your personal or professional life, each failure feels like a dagger on your heart and each success is the soreness of smiles. But do you ever look back on those failures and understand why you failed, or how it has helped you become the person you are today?

Guess what? Every one fails at something and even though its a failure, it has allowed you to take a step further up the mountain. It may be a different route than you were hoping or maybe take you on a journey that you weren't expecting, but guess what. It happened for a reason.

So my lovlies, I challenge you to take on your own mountain. Take those steps needed to reach the top. As December begins today, make a promise to make steps towards the top of your mountain. May they be big or small, they are still steps. Close the 2014 mountain with the soreness of a lot of smiling instead of a dagger on your heart.

Motivational Monday #9

Happy Thanksgiving week to everyone!

Is anyone else as excited as me for a 3 day week? My company is awesome and gives us Thanksgiving and the Day After off :) Although I really don't join in on Black Friday shopping, I enjoy having the day off to spend with friends and family! As this week arrived, it made me think back to last year when I actually thought about getting into blogging to be more thankful and to remind myself to not take things for granted. Although my blogging didn't really officially start until April, the thoughts were a-brewing in November! It also got me thinking about what I really wanted to blog about and Motivational Monday was one of the first things I thought of. How often do we start the week thinking "ugh Monday again"? It also made me realize that thinking about things that motivate me, made me happy. It gave me things to really think about during the week when I was struggling.

As the holiday season approaches us, it is a time happiness and joy. It is also filled with parties, presents and money spending. As the times get more hectic and the time seems to pass faster than ever before, think of you. At the end of the day, you spend more time with yourself than any other person. So why be anything but happy?

*Also since the holidays are upon us and I'm sure some of you have already started shopping, I have a way for you to save some money! I know some of you hate going out into the hustle and bustle of stores so you shop online. So here is the online shopper's best friend:! I'm sure you've seen commercials for this site and thought oh that's just a scam or something. BUT it is not! I have gotten back over $50 just from going to this website first! I promise, you wont be disappointed (some cash back is up to 25%!!). It will tell you how it works and then once a quarter they send you a check for the total amount of cash back you have gotten so far!

Check it out here

*disclaimer: if you click on the link and use the site to shop online, I will get the referral credit. But after you create an account and buy stuff, you can also do the referral credit!

Motivational Monday #8

As I sat around last night watching football and hanging with my boys (Bill and Bruce :)), I kept thinking about what today's post was going to be about. There are so many messages that I see and think oh maybe that one, but then I think about it more and they just don't seem to fit into my life at that very moment. That was true, until a commercial about dreams. I'm sure you've seen the commercial at some point in time. It is an American Family Insurance commercial featuring Russell Wilson. At the end of the commercial is where I heard something stand out to me.

This made me realize, I haven't really thought about my dreams in quite some time. What are my aspirations in life? What do I want to accomplish? What do I want me legacy to be?

Honestly I don't have the answer to any of those questions right now, but damnit I'm thinking about it now! So lovelies, when was the last time actually thought about your dreams and aspirations and accomplishments??

Also if you don't know about the website Bloglovin you should check it out and follow me on there :)

Whisker Wednesday #4

Oofta it has been quite a long time since I have done a Whisker Wednesday but do not fear. It is here! So the last Whisker Wednesday post was about toilet training and what not. Well that has been over for quite some time. After realizing that Bruce was not going to the bathroom in the bathroom anymore but other places (his cardboard kennel and pillow bed), we decided it was time to bring the litter and litter box back. But I did find a good litter that doesn't have any dust and holds up very well, so there's that!

So an update on the little fella: Hes been doing good with the whole move thing. He absolutely loves playing in the snow so next time he goes outside I'll definitely be taking pictures to share with you guys! After we arrived in our new place, Bruce was introduced to stairs (since we now have two floors in our place)...and he LOVES to dart up and down them <-- which is good since he was getting on the fluffier side of the scale ;) I have also invested in a couple of cat trees. There is one that we have in the kitchen and since our patio door is right there over looking a field...he loves sitting there! Who knows what creatures he can see?!

There is one thing that he has started doing that he was not doing before. He is attacking us. Before he would just do it when you pick on him but now its a guessing game. and before it wasn't a hurtful thing it was more of a leave me alone thing. Now he full on leaps for your arm and sinks his claws and teeth in all the while rabbit kicking the heck out of you! If you are not quite sure what I am talking is a perfect representation what what Bruce does. Now he sometimes does it while you pet him but usually its out of nowhere. And then he sits there with him mouth open and his ears back...evil. Sometimes I think he is pure evil. We are working on it because hes our baby kitty!

Other than that hes a good little fella. Here is a couple of pictures of him...Until next time!

Motivational Monday #7

As the snow falls and the wind blows here in MN, I cant help but look back at last year in Colorado. The weather was awesome and if we got snow, it was gone in a couple of days. Even though I miss that weather, nothing -ABSOLUTELY NOTHING- beats being back near family and friends. That feeling when you know that you can call someone at anytime and more than likely see them that same day? Priceless.

The reason I mention this is because when Bill and I decided to move back home (ish), we really did not regret the decision we made to move down there. It was better to say "I'm glad we did it" than "What if we would have done it". And in all actuality, it made us closer. With it just being us two (and Bruce of course) and some roller coaster moments, we learned to lean on each other just a little bit more.

Now this quote does not have to do with the last year, it has to do with a person's whole life. Everyone makes decisions all the time. There is no way around it. I am a firm believer that everyone comes from a different place and everyone makes decisions for a certain reason that makes them who they are. So even if they weren't the best decisions or you look back and think that you could have made a better one, just think. If you would have made the other decision, would you be who you are today or on the road to where you're heading today? <--- food for thought

PS: My motivation is also Mexico. We are planning and booked a friend-cation with some of our closest friends and we are already only 67 days away....AHHHHH!!! #operationdefluff is underway and now that we have about 10 inches of snow, the warmth and sun sound even more amazing! Eeek and that is all folks.

Have a fan-tab-ulous week!

Motivational Monday #6

Life is simple. It's such an easy expression to say, but to live by it--way harder. Yes there are many times where things get tough and yes there are times where you are going to want to give up. Think about it though. If you are doing something hard or different than normal, its because you were not happy with whatever was going on. And you have made a choice to change. So instead of thinking about quitting or reverting back to what was making you unhappy, remember why you started in the first place.

This week I am really going to keep this in mind as I work to lose weight. #operationdefluff is really going to happen and when times get tough or I lose motivation or ALL THE FRIED FOODS look amazing, I will remember that I made this choice. I made this choice to be a happier and HEALTHIER self.

So this week remember, life is simple. :)

Motivational Monday #5

Ahh I know that I haven't been keeping up with this very well (my bad) but I promise to update more often and more regularly! Life gets hectic, ya know?

Well this last weekend we moved up to Minnesota and are (slowly) getting things organized. Moving can be so exhausting but I love rearranging things and I guess you could call it starting over. Its a chance to really go through things and make it work for you. But anyway. I'll update ya'll when I have more time on that and maybe include some pictures ;)

Before we moved last week I saw a video and I have been thinking about it ever since. It is called Coming Out of Your Closet by Ash Beckham and it was done at TEDxBoulder. Here is the video and I HIGHLY suggest watching it.

One thing that really stuck with me was something she says towards the middle "There is no such thing as harder, just hard". When you think first hear about it, it doesn't really have a 'oh yeah tha'ts motivational!' but after watching that video it makes a lot of sense. If you watch it you'll understand but essentially every person's version of hard is different and it makes no sense to assume that just because something wasn't hard for you, doesn't mean that its not hard for someone else.

This is a short post but I encourage you to watch the video and let me know what you think!

See you soon!

Tuesday, September 23, 2014

So I'm sure you came back today just to see what that picture of yesterday's post was all about. Well I'm going to tell you right meow.

Well lets go back to the last Semi-Annual Sale that Victoria's Secret had (its okay, we've all been there and maybe spent too much money). As I was browsing the bra section and came across a yellow sports bra (the bottom one in the picture). It was on sale and I thought hey, this is a good deal and its exactly what I like in a sports bra! Well $38ish dollars later, I had a new sports bra.

Now come back to me people! Now just a couple of weeks ago, I went to TJ Maxx and browsed the workout gear (like I usually do). Low and behold I came across a pink sports bra (top bra in the picture) that looked very familiar.

Now back to Sunday (keep up, I know you can do it).

Here's the picture again

As I was getting ready to head to the gym on Sunday, I pulled out a couple of different sports bras...or so I thought. Both of them have padding and have pretty good support. The both have a pretty good wicking material. Wait I know they are different brands, so whats the difference you ask?

There really isnt a HUGE difference...except the price tag!! Before I tell you the price I will tell you a little bit about each one that sets them apart from each other. The Victoria's Secret sports bra (yellow) has metal strap adjusters and a little thicker of a fabric where as the New Balance (TJ Maxx) one has plastic strap adjusters and a little thinner fabric. But they both have the same line pattern on the bottom of the bra, they have the same strap system and layout and they feel exactly the same!

So now to the price tag:
Victorias Secret: $38.00 (on sale)
New Balance (TJ Maxx): $14.99

Whhhaaattt?? Thats a huge difference! Now I know that not all TJ Maxx places carry the same items and that every store is different but I am for sure going to be picking some more of the New Balance ones up since they are cheaper and provide the same exact purpose.

Just thought I'd share this little insight and maybe save you ladies some money!

Until tomorrow.

Motivational Monday #4

So here goes nothing to a brand new week! As many changes are happening in mine and Bill's life (changes to be announced soon :)), it is very hard to take some time and really thing about life. This last weekend I was fortunate enough to have a 3 day weekend (extra day off for being great at work...woohoo!). It really gave me time to sit around and think about life and the amazing things that come our way.

As I was Pinteresting (being engaged = LOTS of Pinterest!) I found this quote. I found Bill and I actually saying a version of #2 this weekend. Our version: The worst they can say is no.

The three rules above are very true. There are many times in life that we get caught up with everything else that we never take time to actually think about where we are going and where we actually want to go. When you are sitting around thinking or trying to decided something, really think of these rules. If you are uncomfortable in your current situation (like I am with my weight gain), look at #3. I thought about #3 this weekend as I was thinking of new & healthy recipes to make and when I was trying to decide which workouts to do. I know that this last weekend was kinda of a fire-up (attitude adjustment) weekend for the next couple of weeks-and for life really.

As I mentioned in the last Motivational Monday, I entered a DietBet with a couple of friends. Even though I have lost over 2 lbs, I am hungry for more! And not only is the weight loss great, I/we can earn some money by completing the goal. So with that said, lets get at it ladies :)--you know who you are!

So this week, just take some time for yourself and really thing about who you are and where you want to go in life. Life can change at any moment, take charge!

Also: Want to know that the below picture is about? Tune in tomorrow!!

Motivational Monday #3

Holy moly is this a new blog post…you betcha!

So I know I have been gone for some time but its been a crazy last couple of months. The month of July was one of the toughest/worst months I think I have ever had. Then august rolled around and I was very happy about that because two major things happened that month. It was my birthday and I GOT ENGAGED! I still cant believe it at times but the ring has stopped feeling weird on my finger…so we’re getting somewhere. No wedding details have been set yet as Bill and I are working on some other decisions at the moment. But don’t fret, we’ll get going once we can!

So even though Monday is coming to a close, I still wanted to get Motivational Monday out there. So because the last couple of months have been such a whirl-wind I have put on quite a few pounds. And I am not comfortable with myself anymore and how NONE of my clothes fit anymore—there I said it! AAhhh I just feels good to put that out there!!

But with that being said I really didn’t have any motivation to get going so I decided to find some! As I was searching on Bloglovin (a website that puts a whole bunch of blog on one site and you can follow who you want. Then you can look at people’s blog posts as they are updated all at once instead of going to each blog) and came across one of the blogs I follow: and she was doing a Diet Bet.

Blog I saw the challenge on

Now I had no idea what this was until I clicked on it. To get the basics out there you submit a certain amount of money to a pot and commit to losing 4% of your body weight in a month. Then if you “win” (lose 4% of your body weight) you split the pot with the other winners of the bet. They have a verification system as well to make sure that people are who they really are and they aren’t cheating.

Sceenshot of the DietBet website

So long story longer, I decided that this was the challenge that I needed. I mean I put money into it and now I had a good goal to achieve. Because this motivated me, I challenged two of my good friends, Amy and Leah, to do it as well—AND they agreed! EEkk so this is going to be even more motivation to stay on track with each other! So it starts tomorrow and I submitted my weigh in this morning.

I cant wait to take this challenge with the girls and myself. Check back in every week to see my progress!!

Whisker Wednesday #3

Time for a toilet training update!! So I was able to get Bruce to stop peeing on his blanket and bed (mainly because I took them out). He is now fully peeing in the toilet thing. BUT now he has this fear of pooping in it. IDK what his deal is now.

We may have had a set back this last weekend as we took him to The Happy Cat Retreat boarding where there is no toilet so he was going in a regular litter box again. So because I knew this before hand, I didnt remove a ring like I was supposed to. Not only that but they say to only remove the ring after 1 week without accidents...and we haven't gotten there yet after removing the last ring. Only time will tell if he will get the hang of it. I can usually tell though when he has to go to the bathroom. He will go to the bathroom, sit and meow in there until we shut the door. Then he goes to the bathroom and meows when he wants to be let out. So that's good? I'm not quite sure yet how I feel about it anymore but I am determined to get him used to this!

I know you can do it little man!!

Tasty Tuesday

Sooo I may have been a little unmotivated yesterday (due to having guests in town and being completely exhausted this last weekend) which lead to no motivation to post something motivational. I hope you found something motivational even though I was a little lacking!

So I decided to do a post today and call it Tasty Tuesday. So last night as Bill (my boyfriend) and I were thinking about what to have for dinner we realized we had 5 lbs of chicken to use up. So we decided to grill some chicken. Instead of boring old chicken, I decided to add some spice and whip up a little bbq glaze to put on it. So if you are a fan of chicken and bbq sauce, you should try this out!

Grilled BBQ Chicken

Prep time: 10 minutes       Cook time: 20 minutes        Total time: 30 minutes

Serves: 2

  • 2 boneless and skinnless chicken breasts, fat trimmed and thinned to 1/4 in
  • 1 Tbsp of spices, I used an applewood rub
  • 2 Tbsp BBQ sauce, I used Sweet Baby Rays
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  1. Turn on grill and let it heat up to about 450 degrees
  2. Trim fat off of chicken and either split in half (this is what I did) or pound it until it is about 1/4 in. thick
  3. Season both sides of the chicken with spices of choice (the more bbqy or smokey, the better)
  4. Place chicken on grill
  5. Mix ingredients together in a small bowl to create the glaze
  6. Flip after 4-8 minutes--this all depends on the thickness of your chicken
  7. Once it has been flipped, brush with the glaze
  8. Flip after 4-8 minutes again
  9. Brush chicken with glaze again
  10. You can take off the grill at this point but I left it on for just a little bit and glazed the sides one more time to get the sides a little crispy
  11. ENJOY!

I found that cutting the chicken in half works a lot easier than pounding the heck out of it. I also only decided to do 2 chicken breasts because I didn't know how good it was really going to be, but I cant wait to make it again. It was so good Bill asked if I would make more for him to take to lunch!

Let me know how it turns out for you if you try it!

Quick and Healthy(ish) Breakfast Idea

I LOVE my sleep so when it comes to eating something in the morning, I want something quick and easy. So I recently came across this post from from a quick breakfast idea: Sausage Egg Cups. So after discovering some pretty delicious sausage from Johnsonville, I decided that I should try it out. And boy are they delicious! So instead of me sitting here and explaining them to you, let me just give you the recipe.

Chorizo Breakfast Muffin

Prep Time: 15 minutes            Cook Time: 35 minutes                 Total Time: 50 minutes

  • 2-3 sausage links, cooked and chopped up
  • 6 eggs, whisked
  • 2 egg whites, whisked
  • 8 grape tomatoes, chopped up
  • 1/4 cup of white onion, chopped up
  • 1/4 cup of cheese, shredded
  • 2 tsp of garlic, minced
  • dash of salt and pepper
  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  2. Cook sausage thoroughly to 165 degrees.
  3. In a large bowl, combine sausage, eggs, tomatoes, onion, garlic, salt and pepper. Whisk until well combined.
  4. Laddle mixture into 9-11 muffin tins. I used liners like you would for cupcakes or regular muffins but if you dont want to use those, the recipe says to grease REALLY WELL so that the muffins actually come out of the pan.

I usually just heat these up in the microwave for about 30 seconds and then devour them! Here is a snapshot of Myfitnesspal and the nutrition that came from the things that I used.

If you decide to try it, let me know how it goes and if you did anything different that made it even more delicious!

Whisker Wednesday #2

Wahoo, we've made it to another Whisker Wednesday. So a photo of the little guy to get started.

I may have caught him relaxing just a little bit too much :)
So if you read my last post, you know that I am trying to toilet train Bruce. And we, unfortunately, had a set back this last weekend. Bruce has a black blanket that he loves laying on and relaxing on. So we always keep this blanket in the bathroom for night time when he goes to bed as well keeping it with him when we board him at The Happy Cat Retreat. Last Saturday I decided it was time to give it a good old wash, Bruce was in there...PEEING ON IT! Gahhhhh all of my (his? ours?) hard work!

What I am thinking is that he was mad at me for removing another ring on the device on Friday that he decided that the blanket was the best place to do his business. So I washed it and kept it out of the bathroom and just put this dollar pet bed in there instead, thinking he wouldn't pee on it. Well I was wrong! I caught him, again! So all things somewhat soft have been removed from the bathroom. Now, I put him in the bathroom at least twice a day and he does his business. Then right after them I give him a lot of praise and some tuna treats. He LOVES those treats.

So I am hoping that this has fixed "his issue". I am thinking that instead of taking out another ring on Friday, I will just keep it the way it is. He is going to the Happy Cat Retreat again this weekend as Bill's parents are coming to town, but hopefully he doesn't forget his training...I'll let you know how it goes!

I cant lie though, he is such a cutie:

Have an amazing hump day!

Motivaltional Monday #2

Welcome back to Motivational Monday! A little late is better than never! Being in classes all day today (that turned out to be absolutely useless) made it hard for me to be motivational with anything. But I thought I would share with all of you one of my amazing finds that I believe is going to motivate me.

My amazing find: "Do One Thing Every Day That Scares You" by Dian G. Smith and Robie Rogge

I found mine as I was walking out of T.J. Maxx and I am glad that it caught my eye.

Here is what it looks like:

The pages throughout the book are exactly as the back of the book says. Quotes or mottoes of encouragement that push you to get out of your comfort zone and push forward. I know that I will have this book for quite awhile and I hope that it pushes me to excel in different ways and learn a little more about myself.

So are there any books/anything else that you have or have seen that pushes you to become a better person? If so, let me know!

Whisker Wednesday #1

Welcome to the first Whisker Wednesday.

So this post was inspired by the one and only, Bruce.

If you know me, you know that my boyfriend and I have a tuxedo cat named Bruce. We rescued him right before Thanksgiving in 2013 from a local rescue here in Colorado.  He was the only one left of his litter and looked very lonely. So before we go on, here is a couple of pictures of when we first got the little guy!

Bruce is no ordinary cat. He loves, and I mean loves, to play fetch. His favorite toys so far are hair ties, headbands, and twisty ties <--by far his favorite. Another thing that makes him extraordinary is if you cant find him anywhere, all you have to do is open the freezer. He LOVES waiting for an ice cube to accidentally drop so that he can either play with it or wait for it to melt so that he can lick it up. He also meows...A LOT. I think he gets really lonely when we are not around but as soon as we come home, the meowing flood gate opens. Even though hes a little more dog than cat, we still love the little guy.

Everyone knows that there is something that comes with every cat...and that is litter. Stinky litter. So after doing some research (and a little coercive talk from a former coworker) I decided to toilet train Bruce. I know what you're thinking, it's not going to work! BUT IT HAS BEEN! If you haven't heard about this I am using this product: CitiKitty. You can find some information and reviews here or here.

I started this about 3 weeks ago. I first changed the litter box to flush-able litter to get his used to the new stuff. Then a week after I did that, I took the littler box out of the bathroom and put the training tool on the toilet. Then a week after that, I cut the first hole out. So that's where we are at right now! Let me also say this, you NEED to have another bathroom to do this. Cats like to dig into little to clean up after themselves...and that doesn't stop once you start to do toilet train them! Here is a before (cleaned bathroom) picture and an after:

               Before (a clean bathroom)
After (a tornado aka Bruce)

So there you have it. The first Whisker Wednesday. I will update you on the progress on the next Whisker Wednesday.

Have a great day loves!

Motivational Monday #1

Hello all and welcome to Motivational Monday!

Am I the only one that thinks on Sunday, where the hell the weekend went? Yeah I didn't think so. Also have you seen any positive messages about Monday? No, probably not. So here is my solution.

Every Monday (hopefully) I plan to find something motivational to share with everyone. Motivation can be about anything. Fitness, health, food, life, really anything. So I plan to share something motivational and share why I think it is motivational as well as how I plan to use it in everyday life. I also will check in next Monday with how it went for me and check in with you too!

So...welcome to Motivational Monday!

My first motivational post is this:

You may be thinking...I know that I've heard of this. Well if you have seen the movie Bridesmaids...then you have heard it! It really sat with me that last time that I watched the movie. I don't know if it's because of my job (I work with homeless veterans) or what, but I couldn't believe how much I kept thinking about how true it was. I find things on a daily basis that I want to change or that I have an issue with, but then I think...its all me. The only reason I am having an issue with it is because of me or the way that I am thinking about it.

So this week I plan on thinking of this any time I complain about anything or have an issue with anything. I think this is a great way to start the week off because it holds me accountable for my actions, and that's what I really want this to be.

So now I challenge you to find something that will motivate you and stick to it for one week!

Thanks for reading and see you soon!
