Workout Wednesday

Welcome back everyone! Hope your week has been splendid! I missed last week's update so I am going to recap both weeks today!


I can't believe we leave for Mexico in 3 days! I had a somewhat draft of last week's post so you will see that information below as well as this week's update.

Last week's recap:

last week's weight: 157.2 - another pound you guys! I am really proud of this number since it has taken me a hot minute to actually keep this number and not go back up to the 159s. My next hopeful goal is to hit 156!

I am still going for the 80+oz per day of water - I am still committed to working on this! I am hoping to also keep it up in Mexico since there may be a few lot of cocktails involved. 

Eating whole foods with as little of processed food as possible - I am still working on this as well. Even though I was not feeling well, I went to Target yesterday and got a crap load of healthier food. I think I only got a couple of things from the middle isles. It's a little easier to shop for healthier stuff when you see progress!

Keep up with the Erin Stern program - For week 3 I actually started the Katy Hearn Winter Challenge. If you have been around awhile, you know that I have done a couple of these challenges. This one is a little different than the other ones that I have done but so far I am liking it!

Get as close to 10,000 steps as possible - I was not able to hit 10,000 at all this week. I strived for about 7,000 steps and I hit that goal 4 times..yay! I plan on keeping the 7,000 goal right now!

Another goal (not fitness related): I was able to find some good swimsuits from Target and a good coverup from Gordmans as well!


This week's recap:

Final weigh in before Mexico: 155.6 - wahoo! I have been pushing my workouts the last couple of weeks by lifting heavier and adding in some HIIT. Some on the treadmill, some on the stair stepper and some routines that I have just thrown together. I would say that I have left the gym still out of breath multiple times!

80oz of water - I would have to say that I haven't been hitting this mark as close as I wanted to. That being said, I still have been drinking water. I would say that I am at the 60oz-ish mark. I plan on soaking up all the water before heading out on Saturday!

Eating whole foods: I have been doing fairly good with this one as well! I am still being really conscious of the foods I am eating and different ways that I can either make them healthier and/or lower calorie/more dense. Last week I tried zucchini noodles for the first time. I cooked some chicken with a little Italian breadcrumbs and some pasta sauce. I sauteed the zoodles for just a couple of minutes before topping with a little chicken and pasta sauce. It was really good! I actually think I like them better than spaghetti squash!

Follow Katy Hearn Winter Challenge: I have been doing really well and have worked out 10 out of the last 11 days. When there is no workout planned for the day I just do some accessory work and some HIIT. Really it depends on how/what I am feeling that day. I am really liking this challenge so far. Katy decided to "take it back to the basics" and I really like that concept. Not everything has to be crazy or complicated in the gym. Sometimes you just need to do simple movements with mind connection to those muscles.

7,000 steps: I am still working on this goal for this week. I think I am actually going to be leaving behind my Fitbit for Mexico. It's just another thing that could get lost and I don't really need it down there. I don't want to worry about getting it in water either. The best place for it will be safely on my dresser. 

As I stated before, I was able to find some cute swimsuits to add to my collection a couple of weeks ago. I haven't really been out again since we have been a little busy. I am going to run a couple of errands on Friday before packing so if I happen to come across another little number I like, I may just add it ;) I also ordered a couple of dresses from Amazon last night that are going to be here on Friday. So we shall see how that goes!

Goals for Mexico: 

Try and drink as much water as possible.

Workout at least 3 times.

Watch the food I eat and try to choose better options. But also splurge because, Mexico. Try to eat within reason is really what I am trying to say ha!
